Happy Saturday! Pour the weekend double-double, because this is the week in five stories, ranked by you.
Five dispatches, thirty stories. Ranked by open rate (clicks and web reads as tiebreakers), these are the five editions you opened most, each led by the story that carried it.
The week in one line: the drill bits had a monster week, a wrecked Yukon mine finally found a buyer, and gold slid from about $4,140 to just over $4,000 while WTI finished back above $103.
🥇 #1: K2 Gold Drills 83.82 Metres of 3.40 g/t Gold From Surface
The story. K2 Gold (TSXV: KTO) put out the widest, highest-grade hole of its 2026 program at the Dragonfly zone of its Mojave Project in Inyo County, California. Hole DF26-031 ran 83.82 metres of 3.40 g/t gold from surface, including 48.77 metres of 4.98 g/t, with a 19.81-metre core at 7.58 g/t inside that. DF26-032 backed it up with 28.95 metres of 3.11 g/t, including 9.15 metres of 8.53 g/t.
Why you read it. Wide and high grade from surface, in the same hole, is a combination almost no junior lands. It is the setup that flips an oxide heap-leach story from interesting to real.
The skeptic's footnote. True widths aren't locked down, and DF26-031 was abandoned in bad ground while still in mineralization, so nobody knows where it ends. Small housekeeping note: the release headline says 7.51 g/t for that core, while the body and table say 7.58. Metallurgy and a resource estimate still have to confirm the story.
🥈 #2: Cambria Pulls a 794-Gram Metre Out of Silver Coin
The story. Cambria Gold Mines (TSXV: CAMB) released the first 2026 infill assays from its Silver Coin deposit in BC's Premier Camp near Stewart. Hole SC26-2714 ran 98.56 g/t gold over 8.2 metres, including a single metre at 794.0 g/t. SC26-2710 added 22.62 g/t over 4.4 metres, and SC26-2719 cut 2.32 g/t over 30.0 metres.
Why you read it. One tonne of rock from that metre holds roughly $105,700 of gold at the week's starting spot price. Numbers like that get re-read twice.
The skeptic's footnote. This is infill inside a known high-grade zone, so it proves continuity, not discovery. Estimated true widths run 68% to 97% of reported. The real catalyst is the spring 2027 underground development target, about five kilometres from Cambria's Premier Mill.
🥉 #3: Goldstorm Drills a 407-Metre Wall on the KSM Trend
The story. Goldstorm Metals (TSXV: GSTM; OTC: $GSTMF ( ▲ 5.38% )) reported the first three holes of its Phase I program at the Crown property, directly south of Brucejack and KSM in BC's Golden Triangle. OR-26-03 ran 407.55 metres of 0.39 g/t gold-equivalent, including 15.0 metres of 2.89 g/t AuEq with 166.7 g/t silver in that slice.
Why you read it. A 400-metre-plus mineralized intercept on the same structural trend as KSM and Treaty Creek is the kind of system that turns a land package into a takeover conversation.
The skeptic's footnote. It's three holes of seven, the first hole was lost at 98 metres in a void, true widths are undetermined, and the AuEq math assumes 85% recoveries nobody has tested. Bulk-tonnage grade, not bonanza grade. Watch the next four holes.
🏗️ #4: A Buyer Finally Steps Up for Victoria Gold's Wrecked Eagle Mine
The story. Boroo Pte. Ltd., through its Gatsuurt Mining subsidiary, agreed to buy Victoria Gold ($VGCX.TSX ( 0.0% )) out of receivership for C$140 million: C$40 million cash plus C$100 million in permitting and production milestones. Boroo takes on remediation at Eagle, site of the 2024 heap-leach failure, and plans more than C$1.5 billion of total spending.
Why you read it. It's the first credible restart bid with real capital behind it, and it reopens a cornerstone Yukon gold asset the territory's whole junior story has been waiting on.
The skeptic's footnote. Court approval (sought early December), Competition Act clearance, and the Yukon government's sign-off all still have to land. Remediation bills on sites this damaged have a habit of beating every estimate.
📈 #5: New Found Gold's Queensway PEA Gets a C$1.7 Billion Glow Up
The story. New Found Gold ($NFGC.TSX ( ▲ 0.46% )) revised its Queensway PEA in Newfoundland: after-tax NPV of CA$1.7 billion and a 126% IRR at US$3,600 gold, rising to CA$2.2 billion at US$4,100. Measured and Indicated ounces grew 38% to 1.92 million, against initial capital of CA$149.8 million.
Why you read it. That capex-to-NPV gap is what moves a company from promising explorer to financeable developer in a single release.
The skeptic's footnote. It's a PEA, not a reserve, and it leans on Inferred ounces. The full technical report is due within 45 days. (This edition went out Friday evening, so it had only a few hours to collect opens and still made the list.)
