Under NI 43-101, a Qualified Person must stand behind scientific and technical disclosure on a mineral project. The QP is responsible for the information, not the company’s marketing department.
A Qualified Person is a professional engineer or geoscientist with at least five years of relevant experience. They must be in good standing with a professional association. Independence is required for certain reports (for example, initial resource estimates in many cases).
Company insiders acting as QP on material reports where independence is expected. Press releases that quote technical results without naming the QP or referencing the technical report. Over-reliance on a single QP with limited relevant experience.
A Qualified Person must stand behind the numbers. Check independence and relevant experience. Read the technical report, not just the press release.
Commodity Ape is information and commentary, not investment advice. Junior resource stocks are high risk and can lose most or all of their value. Do your own work.
